 JB! The Biebs! OMG do you like, love Justin Bieber or what? These are the kind of things that you here when you mention the name Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber is a teenage boy who was discovered by Usher when he was 12 years old. At first everyone thought that he was a girl because he had a really girly voice. But now that he is 17, he is the pop sensation of the world. In my opinion he is a really good singer and song writer. But I am absolutely not one of those crazed teens who would die to meet him.  Although I don’t “love” him some of his songs are really good, like my favorite “Mistletoe”. It’s his latest song about the Christmas season. And for the record, he doesn’t sound like a girl in this one. Over all I think that Justin Bieber is a really good at what he does.

Music. Its apart of world culture. Different kinds of music like hip hop, rap, and country. Personally my favorite is hip hop. One of my favorite artists is Bruno Mars. Before he became an artist he was a song writer. He decided that he was going to give some of the credit to himself by writing and singing his own songs. His most current song is called It Will Rain. This is my absolute favorite song. It was written specifically for the Breaking Dawn Part One movie, but it turned out to be a hit single. The first time heard this song I bought it off of iTunes. Bruno Mars has many songs. They are all about something different. Bruno Mars is the best singer and song writer on planet earth.

       Author’s Note: My favorite genre in TV shows is comedy. As you read this think about your favorite TV show that’s comedy.
   

One of my favorite TV shows is Family Guy. Family guy is one of my favorite shows because it’s hilarious. I find it being really funny because of the fact that nobody in the family ever gets along. They are always yelling at each other and making fun of each other; I think that’s the main reason that I like it so much. Another reason that I like it is because of some of the lines that they say. For example, one of my favorite lines is from a little two year old named Stewie. It’s where he’s in his moms (Louis) room and he wants to tell her something. He says “Louis, Louis, Louis, Louis, mom, mom, mom, mom, mommy, mother, mommy, mother, Louis mommy, mama!” What!!” says Louis. “HI” says Stewie.I think that I like this line some much because of the fact that Stewie has a British accent. I that comedy is the best genre of a TV show because you can laugh at almost anything the actor or actress says.

The Weekend

          Ahhhh the weekend. The time to kick back and enjoy not being in school. This weekend i am really excited for because i have a lot going on with my friends. Tomorrow night i am going to the school Christmas dance. On Saturday I a going to see Breaking Dawn part 1 with my friends Emillee, Stephanie, Jenna, and Jessica. Even though I have seen it already, it is my favorite movie, so I'm going again. And finally, on Sunday i am going to a concert at my church with Abby Laskowski. Peder Eide is the famous singer who is having a concert at our church. He is a famous religious singer that our church supports.Even thought sometimes my weekends are boring, i am really looking forward to this one.

The Twilight Saga

         Twilight,new moon, eclipse,and breaking dawn. These are the four books written by Stephanie Meyer about a vampire and an immortal that fall madly in love.These books have turned into a world wide phenomenon.They became movies in 2008 and their are still more to come. Also in this series there are teams. One team is Team Edward, Edward is the dreamy vampire int his series who would do anything for Bella, his true love.There is also another team called Team Jacob.Team Jacob is for the people who like the teen wear wolf who is also in love with Bella, but she doesn't feel that way about him back. I, for one think that Edward is by far better than Jacob. TEAM EDWARD!

Christmas Time

 Author's Note: Christmas is the time of year to bring joy to family and friends during the holiday season.

           I love Christmas. Its the time where all of my family gets together to celebrate Jesus and being a family. My favorite part of Christmas is that my entire family on my moms side of the family goes up to the dells and we spend two nights and three days. I also go to my other aunts house to celebrate Christmas with them I  think that Christmas is a really good time to be happy and enjoy having fun with your family and friends. Also to enjoy the break off of school. While we are off school during our break, usually my friends and i go and see movies and hangout. I think that Christmas is the time ot enjoy your family and friends and time off of school.

A Child Called It

Authors Note: While you are reading this, think about child abuse and how it affects the children who are victims.

Monster. That was the only word Dave Pelzer could ever think of when he thought about his mother. The one who took his childhood life and turned it into chaos. The book I am reading is called a child called it, about the worst case of child abuse i have ever heard of.

A Child Called It. This book makes me think of one thing…child abuse. This story reminds me of an article that I read in a newspaper and it was about how a mother wanted to kill her foster children by either poisoning the children’s food or not giving them any food. This article came to my mind when I first started reading A Child Called It because in one chapter David’s mother wouldn’t feed him because he didn’t finish his chores in the time required by his mother.

This book really affected me about why child abuse is really wrong. As I read this I thought about all the children in the world who have or are being abused. For example, when I am at the grocery store I sometimes see kids acting up and screaming, and then they get slapped because they were being bad. Those are the kind of things that make me wonder what happens when the parent and the child aren’t out in public, even though the child getting hit in the grocery store probably isn’t getting abused at home. The book A Child Called It has really changed the way that I think about child abuse.

Outside of what reminds me of this book, how about what really happens in this world. About 1,500 kids die each year from being abused and about 140,000 children were found in a case of child abuse that were hurt from being abused. Also, about 1.7Million reports of child abuse are reported this past year. I for one think that David Pelzer (boy in the story) was one of the bravest child abuse victims. He went through so much child abuse for about 9 whole years until his school nurse found out.

As I read A Child Called It, I learned that there is so much child abuse in his world. In my opinion A Child Called It was one of the best, most descriptive yet worst case of child abuse in history.

Authors Note: America is such a great country to live in. While you are reading this , think to yourself, am I lucky to be an American.

America. The land of the brave and the free. But are we really the brave ones? No, the people who fight for or country helps us to be a free. We Americans are so lucky to have such brave people to serve our country. I am so proud to be an American because of my freedom.

Even though America is in some bad situations, what about the other countries? Countries like Iraq are suffering of wars happening in their own cities. Some people are even scared to fall asleep at night not knowing if something is going to happen to them. Although Americans fight in war, other countries have it way worse than we do.

While not being able to fall asleep at night, what about if you don’t have food to survive off of? Or what about going days without water and when you could drink it, you would probably get sick because it isn’t clean? Well this is how people in other less fortunate countries live. They just can’t go to the tap and get a drink or go to the fridge to take a snack out whenever they want to. They have to go and either make their own food or they have to go down to a water source and get their own non cleansed water.

In addition to having no food or water for days, what about not even having a home or a good education that you can actually carry on your life? Some cities in countries can’t even afford to build a school so that kids can get an education. Also, some people have to find a place to sleep at night because they can’t afford to build a home of their own.

On the other hand some people in different countries aren’t allowed to have jobs of go to school. They are forced to be slaves working for and work for whoever they are sent to. I know that if slavery was in of America.

If America was different today I don’t think my life would be the same.  Freedom is a part of being an American and I am very proud of my country and the people who serve for it.

The Scariest Moment in American History

Authors Note:  9/11 was a terrible moment in history. i chose to write about this topic because i felt tht it would be an interesting topic to write about.

It was 8:46 a.m. on September 11, 2001, two planes crashed into the twin towers in New York City. There were people having to have to run to find a way out of the buildings and areas. Fires were chasing them down the halls; their lives at stake. In American history, 9/11was the most tragic and scariest day.

September 11, 2001 was just normal day in New York when suddenly the state was attacked by terrorists. The plane crashed in to the twin towers. Many people know them as the twin towers.   Nobody knew exactly what was coming. The people on the news thought that the first time plane that crashed into the Twin Towers was just too low. Though, when the second plane crashed they knew it wasn’t an accident. Their lives were going to change more than they knew.

There were four planes total on the attack. Two of them crashed into the World Trait Center. But nobody really talks about the other two planes. One of the two planes crashed into the pentagon. The other plane was planning to crash into another American landmark, but four brave people on that plane attacked both the hijackers and forced the plane down into Debris field.  The brave people on that plane were planning to drop the plane carefully but unfortunately that never happened and the plane came down hard. No one did survive.

It has been 10 years since the attack of 9/11.People have recovered from the damages done physically and mentally. People have also recovered the landmarks. The twin tower was made into fountains taking the place of the building. They are surrounded by granite engraved names of the people who died in the attack. People come to visit the memorials in honor of their loved ones. They are also rebuilding the twin towers. The pentagon was rebuilt also. But no one forgot about  Debris field which was also redone so that people could come and  visit it as another American landmark.

Some people have or may never recover from this incident. The accident has made places including airports, more safe and protected. America is safer than ever. Even though we seem to have recovered from this tragedy, 9/11 will never be forgotten throughout  American history.
